CellFriendlyª is a new technology for cannulas. It is now available exclusively from Tulip. Preliminary evaluations have proven so positive, we believe we can safely say that once you try CellFriendly cannulas, you'll never use traditional cannulas again.
What is CellFriendly? It is a brand new (patent pending) fusion surface technology called CF2000ª that transforms both the lumen and the outer surface of the cannula. Under a microscope, even highly polished stainless steel is a landscape of spikes and pits. Obviously, tissue passing over this surface experiences substantial cellular destruction. This spiky landscape also creates a great deal of friction.

The CF2000 fusion surface technology changes the structure of the surface of the stainless steel, creating a substantially smoother and more lubricious surface. It acts as a cloaking device between the cell and the stainless steel. The result is a more cell friendly cannula that passes much more easily through the tissues.

We are so confident in the qualities of this new technology, we are backing it with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you feel you CellFriendly cannulas aren't better than any others you've use, you can return them for full credit.

Additional Benefits of CF2000

  • Extends the life of the cannula or needle
  • Cleans easier and more thoroughly (No brushes!)
  • When used on needles or trocars, it extends the life of the honing, keeping the sharp edges sharp longer.
  • Will not chip or peel, since it is not a coating
  • Makes the cannula lubricious, decreasing friction when wet
  • FDA registered for surgical and implantable products

Here's a Message about CF2000 from
John Johnson, Tulip's President

My mother always told me, "It's what's inside that counts." As a valued Tulip customer, I want to introduce you to a new cannula technology we've developed of which even my mother would approve. CF2000 is a patent pending technology that improves the surface finish of the lumen of our cannulas by up to 90%. CF2000 also significantly reduces outer surface friction and eliminates the embedded chemical lubricants used in processing stainless steel tubing. Tulip's exclusive new line of CellFriendly cannulas are all manufactured with CF2000 technology.

What's important about CF2000 technology?

All stainless steel tubing material drawn over a mandrel is affected by the lubricating agents used to improve the internal surface finish. The lubricant is a chlorinated or other halogen-based material that can be embedded into the tubing wall as deeply as .0005 inch. Even after passivation and cleaning in a tri-chlor bath, 40% or more of the embedded material remains. This remaining, ingrained chemical lubricant is available to later react with fluid and tissues that come in contact with the tubing.

In addition, inclusions or steps created by the start and stop redraw process in forming the stainless steel tubing will negatively affect the surface of the tubing, both inside and out, creating a microscopic landscape of peaks and valleys. This causes destructive friction with cells that pass through and over the tubing of the cannula in liposuction and tissue transfer procedures.

Improving the outer surface of cannulas with coatings such as Teflon is not new. However, addressing the imperfections in the surface of the lumen has previously been impossible. Tulip's new CF2000 technology eliminates all traces of foreign lubricant in both the outer surface and the lumen, leaving the tubing with sanitized, uniformly honed surfaces both inside and out. And there's a futher benefit of CF2000. It creates a highly lubricious cannula surface further reducing friction and drag.

Who is using CellFriendly cannulas with CF2000?

In developing our CellFriendly line of cannulas with CF2000 technology, we asked long-time Tulip users like Dr. Luiz Toledo to evaluate them. As you can read in the 1999 July/August issue of Aesthetic Surgery Journal, Dr Toledo compares the ease with which the new cannulas pass through the tissue to the ease with which the internal ultrasonic cannulas pass through the tissue. Other evaluators have reported similar experiences. In addition, the improvement in the surface characteristics of the lumen may assist in harvesting more viable cells for transplantation.

Thank you again for your patronage of Tulip.

Sincerely,
John Johnson
President
